The work is serious. There is still room for a smile.

The smiles are back, the work is underway, and Chema Volleyball Club is preparing for a new season set to begin on November 14–15, 2026. With fresh faces in the squad and a change on the technical bench, there is plenty for the Chema Family to look forward to.

The team has been practising ahead of the opening weekend. Training offers time to build fitness and the understanding that turns individual effort into a strong collective performance. Those quiet weekends without volleyball? Their days are numbered.

Chema welcomes Griffin Lwazi, an outside hitter, Emmanuel Wamoto, an opposite hitter, and William Odongo. The preparation period gives the new arrivals and returning players time to learn each other’s game and develop their connections on court.

On the technical bench, Leonard Maina becomes acting head coach, guiding the squad as it prepares for the challenges ahead. The focus is on bringing the group together and turning the work in training into consistent performances.

Last season set a strong benchmark. Chema finished second in Kenya Division One after losing to KPA in the final and also reached the Kenya Cup final, where GSU took the honours. Two finals brought pride and valuable lessons, with another opportunity now approaching.

As the team prepares, our message to supporters is simple: we want you with us. Once fixtures and venues are confirmed, mark your calendars, gather your fellow fans and make plans to show up.

Bring the friend who knows every rotation. Bring the one who celebrates first and asks what happened afterwards. There is room for both in the Chema Family.

Your voices, applause and encouragement help create the atmosphere around the team. Celebrate the big points, keep the support positive and stay with the players when the score gets tight. Every season has demanding moments; let ours be met by a united Chema Family.

And while you are getting ready for matchday, get your Chema fan jersey ready too. Buying a jersey supports the club and lets you wear your connection to the team with pride, whether you are in the stands or representing Chema around town.

Already have yours? Wear it proudly. Still planning to get one? Consider this your reminder to get the colours ready before the first whistle.

The opening weekend is set for November 14–15, with fixtures yet to be released. Keep following the club for match details so you can plan your attendance.

New faces. Fresh energy. The same Chema Family. Let’s show up, wear the colours and bring the noise.

Chema Chajiuza!
